Well, here we are again in the middle of summer, the season of swimming, barbecues and sunburn. And boy! Didn’t “Hot Summer Nights” sizzle! What a great night, and if you weren’t there, then you really missed out.
Summer is also the season of those hot, sweaty nights and all that goes with them (ooh-ah). Whatever you get up to during these warmer months of the year, do make sure you do it safely, after all, we want you guys to be around for many years yet.
Having the benefit of a pool, it is comparatively easy for me to cool off when needed. Of course, I have to share with my dog (who adores a good swim), but hey, that’s OK. It’s good exercise for her! I really love the warm weather, even though it does get a bit muggy every now and then, but that’s part of summer, isn’t it? Anyone with any rheumatic condition (like me) already knows that summer and the warm weather is the best for keeping joints mobile – winter is a real misery. Still. there’s lots one can do to keep moving, even if the outside temperature is less than ideal.
Winter is a great time for those warm cuddly nights in bed, coupled with some energetic activities to keep the blood circulating. I like summer too, for the same reason, but with sweat. Oh boy!
So, I do hope that all you guys enjoy the theme nights at BootCo which your hard-working committee put on for you. If 2013 is anything to go by, then the answer is obvious – we had arguably our most successful year to date, and it’s thanks to you fellas for attending and making the year as huge as it was. It looks as though 2014 is going to be great too, so it’s all to enjoy.
We look forward so seeing you all at our pub nights. It would also be a good idea to start thinking about entering Corium (Mr Qld Leather), our premier event of the year.
OK, enough from me for now – live well, play safe, and we’ll see you at Sportie’s.
Frank Croucher,
