Greetings and Salutations!

Firstly, my sincere apologies for those of you who have been eagerly awaiting the first newsletter from your new President. I can only apologise for the lateness and I can assure you that my tardiness will not be repeated.

Before I go any further, I would like to say thank you to all the members of the outgoing committee. Steering any club/organisation takes many skills and, Boot Co’s ongoing success as a club, is testament, not only to the outgoing committee, but to all previous committees. Thank you, again.

I now ask you to join me in welcoming the incoming committee. I have observed that this is a committee that has enthusiasm, skills, knowledge and maturity to take Boot Co forward. Their varied backgrounds and experiences will be invaluable to the club’s ongoing success.

I am again, honoured, to be President of Boot Co. The trust and respect that has been shown to me by club members is very humbling and I will continue to assist the club to grow and be successful in maintaining a relaxed, friendly and respectful forum where men can come together to meet, talk, explore their fetishes and have fun. Together, with the incoming committee, I believe that Boot Co is heading for another successful chapter in its own history: new chapters are exciting, filled with the unexpected and provides opportunities for the club to continue to grow in meeting the needs of its members.

I know many members have some idea of who I am but, for those that don’t know me, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joshua Hart; I am 58 y/o; have a partner of 24 years, Kevin; I work in senior health management for a not for profit, religious based organisation. Kevin and I joined Boot Co in 2002 when we first moved to Brisbane. Kevin won Mr. Qld Leather 2004 and then I won the title in 2005. In 2008 I was voted in as President and continued until 2010 when my work took Kevin and I to Cairns for three years. We returned to Brisbane in 2013. So, please feel free to say hello to us when we are out and about.

Now, back to business. Outside of the planning and preparing the clubs events, the committee have undertaken some extra projects, particularly in our social media platforms, to ensure that all information contained on our Face Book page, web site, twitter etc is current, accurate and authorised by the Boot Co committee. Furthermore, this is helping to preserve the club’s journey and adding information to our archives.

The committee have also decided, in order to ensure transparency, the minutes of the committees monthly meetings will be posted on our website for members to view. You will be able to find them in the member’s only section.

Upcoming events: our biggest event of the year, Corium, is now less than two months away and planning has commenced in earnest. This also means that the annual Mr. Qld Leather competition and the Qld Leather Boy competition nominations will be soon be open with the application forms and information packs available on our web site. If you have the drive to represent Boot Co; if you believe that you have the passion and skills to become Mr. Qld Leather, then this is your chance to put yourself forward. Likewise, if you believe that you have what it takes to be an outstanding Qld Leather Boy, then we want to hear from you. Judging for both titles will commence in early August and will culminate at Corium on August 27th. Last year saw six men battle it out for the Mr. Qld Leather title and eight battle it out for the Qld Leather Boy title.

Well men, I will leave my meanderings there for now and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Yours, in leather, Joshua Hart, President.
