I remember the first time I walked down the stairs at Sporties to Bootco, I wore the basic denim jeans and a black T-Shirt as I didn’t really own any leather. I was so scared of being treated like a noob that the few (many) drinks I had in the bar upstairs did nothing to quell my nerves. But instead the guys there were friendly and welcoming and soon my nerves disappeared.

So many of my friends I originally met through Bootco, including my husband who struck up a conversation with me at the May pub night in 2009. Through challenging times in my life these same friends have been the first to offer their advice and support and I have always loved this about the club, our sense of community.

As President and part of the committee my aims are to make our events the best they can be; review our operating costs to provide the best value to our members and make our space a welcoming and exciting environment for all.

I would like to finish by saying thank you to our previous President Dominus Dej who, over the past two and a half years, has put a lot of time and effort into the club and I cannot wait to build on that legacy.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the next pub night.
